CAS Holds “Lock-in” To Increase Holiday Adoptions

Starting at 6pm on Monday Dec. 21 until 6pm Tuesday December 22 Charleston Animal Society staff will not leave the shelter until every animal finds a HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Join CAS for fun and exciting events and last minute gifts for your pets and friends. TJ Gary and Ric from the WEZL morning crew will be broadcasting live December 22nd at 6am with fun and prizes, as well as local TV weather and live remotes. PS bring your slippers, robe and favorite jammies on December 21st as we watch movies while shelter animals play!

Join Us as we celebrate the season by helping animals,watching movies,visit with Santa Paws and save lives!

What better way to spend a cold evening than with the animals in the warm shelter! Charleston Animal Society Staff plan on staying in the shelter for 24 hours to bring awareness to the plight of the animals in the shelter’s care, raise much needed donations for them and to make sure every animal at the shelter up for adoption finds a “Home for the Holidays.” Helping animals in need this holiday will be fun at the Charleston Animal Society, located at 2455 Remount Road.

 The “Home for the Holidays” will begin on December 21st at 6pm. Doors usually close at 6pm but not this night. Shelter staff will be staying open until 6pm Deccember 22nd. Join them as the CAS kick’s off their 24 hour holiday event at 6pmwith Subaru of Charleston’s “Share the Love” Campaign. Get a great deal on a Subaru and they will make a $250 donation to the ASPCA or your choice of five charities, now through January 4th. The CAS/ASPCA Subaru Outback will be parked in front of the shelter and you to help the shelter fill it with donated cans of cat and dog food. Canned food is desperately needed at the shelter to administer medicines and boost the immune systems of the animals.Drop off your canned food donations at the shelter 245 Remount Road or look for our Subaru Outback at all our adoption events and help CAS fill their pantry with canned food.

 Home for the Holidays Festivities: Bring your furry and furless family members to the shelter on Dec. 21st from 6pm-8pm. to visit with Santa Paws and have your picture taken (kids are welcome) your $10 donation will include a photo and festive frame. Or drop in to visit and pick up a gift for the animal lover in your life. Shelter Gift Certificates make a great gift and can be used to purchase items from our store,towards an adoption or at our low fee spay/neuter clinic and they never expire. From 8pm-10pm we will feature a Holiday movie in our Post and Courier Education Room.Wear your pajamas and we’ll provide the popcorn, treats and puppies! 10pm to midnight we will feature a two hour “Midnight Madness” adoption event for adult cats. Adopt an adult cat during this event and receive a free goody bag with supplies and the adoption fee will be half price! 

6am-10am Tuesday December 22nd, join TJ Gary and Ric,WEZL Morning Crew as they broadcast live and wake up the animals as our Breakfast with the animals event begins. Drop off a donation and receive a special gift from our crew!
