2010 is starting out with a bang, full of fun canine related events. Here’s the fun stuff you can do with your dog this weekend:
StingRays Dog Days of Winter — This Sunday’s ( Jan. 10th) Stingrays game is canine friendly!!! The Stingrays will host a donation drive for Pet Helpers, collecting shelter wish-list items, like pet food and litter, or monetary donations before and during the game versus Georgia’s Gwinnett Gladiators. Doggy tickets will be available for a suggested donation of $5. Dogs in attendance will also be invited to walk in the Dog Days of Winter Doggy Parade. Game starts at 4pm. Trot for the Cure — Before the big hockey game, head on over to the Trot for the Cure, a wonderful homegrown event that raises funds for canine cancer research. We love this event so much that LCD featured the founder, Jane Hirsch in 2009’s Animal Advocates issue. You can read that article in full HERE.
The sixth annual Trot for the Cure will be held Jan 10th at 11:30 at the beautiful and historic Magnolia Gardens. Tickets are $30 day of the event. Participants can walk their dogs through the gardens, watch the entertaining Dixie Dancing Dogs, take part in a Q&A with many veterinary specialists, and enjoy a delicious barbeque by Southern Que-N-Stew. There will also be lots of raffle prizes. Last year’s event raised nearly $20,000. Help make 2010 even more of a success! Questions? Call (before 8 PM) 843-971-5865.
