April Contest: SIX! Months of Natural Balance Dog Food

What an amazing contest folks. Simply comment below to be entered in our April Giveaway, 6 months of Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Dog Food from Lucia’s Premium Pet. It doesn’t get any better!

Some dogs and even puppies may be highly sensitive to commonly used proteins, carbohydrates and food additives in their diet. Allergic reactions can lead to irritable bowel, upset stomach, and a number of skin problems. Natural Balance® has created an entire line of Allergy Formulas for dogs with these food allergies. Each Formula has been created specifically for the needs of sensitive pets.

The fortnate winner will receive one 15# bag of Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diets (Venison, Bison, Duck or Fish) per month for 6 months. * In-Store pick up only. Lucia’s is on Daniel Island in the Publix Shopping Center.

Check out this amazing testimonial from a dog owner:

I am a member of an online group called K9-EPIGLOBAL. We are owners of dogs who suffer from a rare condition called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). This condition renders our dogs incapable of naturally producing the digestive enzymes necessary to break down fats, carbohydrates, and proteins so we must supplement their diet with theses enzymes as well as feed them kibble that is  low in fat and fiber. By the time the condition is diagnosed, many of the dogs have lost up to 30% of their body mass.

The purpose of the online group is to provide help and guidance for those trying to get their recently diagnosed dogs back to a healthy  state. There are around 1200 members in our group and many of us have had remarkable success with Natural Balance® Potato and  Duck Formula in particular due to its low fat and fiber content.

As you can see in the before and after photo.. the results in a short period of time have been staggering!! She has gained almost 30 lbs  in only a few months and is now back to her original weight!

Thank you for helping me get my own dog back to a healthy state.  All the best, Marty Smets

Everlasting Treat Ball Giveaway WINNER!

Congrats to Nat, lucky number 30. He’s the winner of the Everlasting Treat Ball. And from his comments, it seems his dogs will really enjoy the toy: “ Give it to me!  I’m serious. I have bulldogs, and the only thing that lasts more than 30 seconds is a rib eye bone, but they only last 45 sec. My dogs would be the true test to its indestructibleness. Squirrel and Weezy want it. Give it to them”. Well Squirrel and Weezy got their wish. I hope Nat will send us some photos or video of the dogs gnawing on the toy so we can share it with all of you!

Nat commented here on the blog, and on the LCD and Hairy Winston Facebook pages. Make sure to boost your odds of winning our next contest by commenting in all three places (here, the LCD blog and the business offering the giveaway)! And speaking of our new contest — it’s a DOOZY! The contest will be announced here tomorrow; so come on back on hump day and see what your dogs can win. Trust us. You’ll really want to enter this next one.

Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Bo & Abby

Bo, Abby, & the new addition to the family, Chica

Bo is  a Golden Retriever and a big boy. He turned five on March 5th. My most memorable moment with Bo was after a ski accident two years ago, Bo became my service dog. I had four surgeries on my shoulder and he knew how pull me up when I put my left hand under his collar after only a few instructions. His personality is laid back, and he is a gentle giant.

He LOVES the water and goes to James Island frequently and will play ball with anyone. Fly fishing on small streams for native brown trout, he knows to stay behind, after I catch he goes sight fishing with his paws behind me, never caught a fish, doesn’t matter.

Bo has taught me time flies. It seems like yesterday he was a round ball of fur, one of eleven pups, navigating stairs to reach me first, now he is going on five, and happy to see me even if I am only gone for five minutes! Patience, fishing without rewards!

Abby is my female Golden and will be 2 on July 4th. She is wiser than her age and has been “grown up” since I met her. Bo has taught her well, potty trained her thru a doggie door how to walk on leash and be all around well mannered. My most memorable moments are every day with her! Abby loves running, swimming, playing with other dogs maybe not so much with cats. Abby is exuberant, and always looking for new adventures. She has changed my life with her exuberance and loyalty.
